Personal Protection Advice
Life can be unpredictable, but the right protection ensures you and your family are supported through life’s toughest moments. Without the right advice, cover can be confusing and may not provide the security you need.
At Omny Personal Finance, we build personalised protection plans around your circumstances, priorities and long-term goals, so your cover is joined up with the rest of your financial plan, not bought in isolation. Whether you are focused on protecting your income, securing your mortgage, or safeguarding your family’s future, we help you put practical, affordable protection in place.

We Take a Holistic Approach to Personal Protection
The most effective financial protection makes sure every part of your finances holds up if life takes an unexpected turn, keeping your income, your home, your family, and the plans you’ve spent years building, as secure as possible.

Income Protection
Income protection insurance provides you with a regular tax-free income if illness or injury stops you from working for a prolonged period. It can help you keep up with your essential outgoings, from mortgage or rent to bills and everyday living costs, until you are able to return to work or the policy ends. We will work with you to decide what level of income protection cover you need, how long it should pay out for and how it fits with any sick pay, savings or other safety nets you already have.

Life Insurance
Life insurance cover is designed to provide a tax-free lump sum to your loved ones if you pass away during the policy term. It can be used to clear a mortgage, replace lost income or create a financial cushion, so your family can maintain their standard of living and protect your children’s prospects. We help you choose the right type and level of life insurance, considering debts, dependants and long-term goals, so you can protect your family’s financial future with confidence.

Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness insurance pays out a tax-free lump sum if you are diagnosed with a specified serious illness, such as cancer, heart attack or stroke, as defined in the policy. This can help you cover treatment costs, adapt your home, reduce work hours, or simply relieve financial pressure at a difficult time so you can focus on your health. We will talk you through how critical illness cover can complement your life insurance and income protection, and help you decide what level of critical illness cover is appropriate for your situation.

Mortgage Protection
Mortgage protection insurance, sometimes called mortgage life insurance, is designed to clear some or all of your mortgage if you pass away during the policy term. It means your family would not have to worry about meeting mortgage payments at the worst possible time and can remain in the home you have built together. We make sure your mortgage protection cover is aligned with your outstanding mortgage balance and term, and we can look at options that also include critical illness elements if appropriate.

Whole of Life Insurance
Whole of life insurance provides a guaranteed tax-free lump sum whenever you pass away, as long as you keep up the premiums. It is often used as part of estate planning, helping beneficiaries settle inheritance tax or providing a known amount for family members, funeral costs or legacy gifts. We can help you understand how whole of life insurance sits alongside your other plans and whether it is suitable as part of your broader personal protection planning.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does the initial meeting cost?
There’s no charge for your initial meeting or presentation. We’ll use this time to understand your goals, share our recommendations, and outline how we can support you going forward.
What’s the benefit of financial advice?
Good advice gives you clarity and confidence. It helps you make informed decisions, structure your finances effectively, and stay on track as your circumstances change. We’ll also help you make the most of your allowances and understand your tax position, so your money works harder for you.
Who should get financial advice?
Anyone who wants to make the most of their money — whether you’re early in your career, changing jobs, growing your wealth, or planning for retirement.
What does ongoing advice cost?
Our fees are very competitive. Our ongoing advice service is 0.5% on advised products, subject to a minimum fee of £240 per year.
Am I locked into the ongoing advice service?
No. If you ever feel you’re not getting value for money, you’re free to leave at any time with one month’s notice.
What happens if I change employer?
You can continue with our service. We’ll review your new situation and provide updated advice tailored to your new role and benefits.
Can my partner also receive advice?
Yes. We offer the same service for partners, and working with both of you allows us to provide more comprehensive advice that reflects your full financial picture.
Do you only advise on certain types of protection?
We provide advice across a range of personal protection solutions, including life insurance cover, critical illness insurance, income protection insurance, mortgage protection insurance and whole of life insurance. Our role is to recommend the combination that best supports your goals, not to promote a single product.
Who should consider personal protection planning?
Anyone who has people who rely on them financially, has a mortgage or significant financial commitments, or would struggle if their income stopped, should consider personal protection planning. This includes individuals early in their careers, growing families, homeowners and those approaching retirement who still want to protect their loved ones.
Do you recommend products from one provider, or do you search the whole market?
We search the whole market independently. That means we are not tied to any single insurer or provider, and we have no incentive to steer you towards a particular product. We compare what is available across the market, assess which options suit your circumstances, and recommend the cover that makes sense for you. You get the best fit, not the easiest option for us.
